Is it stones? Help!

I have been having constant pains for three weeks now. They bounce around several locations in my abdomen including my back, bladder, stomach, and groin, mostly on the right.  I had previously been having a lot of uterine bleeding related to throwing up my birth control pill due to stomach flu and a migraine.  In the middle of having the cramps and pain related to that, I developed the back pain which has since spread and worsened.  My gynecologist did a pelvic ultrasound which was completely normal.  She thought it could be kidney stones.  I went to the er in pain and they did a renal and aortic ultrasound  which were normal.  I went to the er again a few days later still in pain and they did a ct scan.  They told me I had several small stones in each kidney but they weren't the cause of my pain and they sent me home.  I am at a complete loss!  I continue to have these pains nonstop.  They wake me up at night, and range from stabbing pain under my ribs to throbbing in my pelvis and pain shooting to my hip and groin.  The pain on the right side of my spine has remained constant.  I also seem to be having a strong pulsating in my upper abdomen.  My urine was tested twice and found to be normal.  My family doc just ordered bloodwork which is not back yet.  She thinks it could be a disc issue and is considering an MRI of my back.  Any thoughts?

For the last month, I have had exactly what you are talking about.  Wednesday July 23 was first trip to er had a arrogant doctor who said it was tendoniditis in the hip and sent me home the an anti inflammatory  The pain is like no other pain i have ever experienced.  went to my family physician on the Friday, was sent to er for a renal ct scan.  It showed one +4mm kidney stones in my kidney.  All my bloodwork and urine were fine.  Was put on Flomax and told to screen my urine.  All through the next two weeks i had constant pain in my left groin area but also had bursts of travelling pain from my kidney to my groin. Passed two smaller stones and several fragments. pain was increasing in my groin and started having nausea.  Seen doctor on August 5, he was surprised to see my collection of stones and fragments and sent them off for analysis.  The +4mm stone is stuck at the entry to my bladder.  He put me on torodol 3 times a day, 1000 mg tylenol as needed for pain, flomax, and an anti nausea medication.  I have been referred to an urologist to have the +4mm stone crushed.  he also did repeat bloodwork and urine, it all is still coming back normal.

My advice to you Ncypantz is to be your own adovocate and trust your instincts, only you know your body.  We do not all present symptoms in the same way.  Go buy yourself a pea strainer and collect any fragments you collect in a container and take that to doctor. Good Luck, feel your pain

I have had numerous kidney stones over the past, almost, 35 years now and never has any of my pain acted like the pain you are describing. My kidney stone pain has always been from the same place, depernding on whether it was a stone in my right or left kidney, but never has the pain "floated" around as yours is doing. It's always been very sharp pain and from the same spot, on either side, for me over the years. Listen to your Dr. and go from there. It appears as though you may have another origin for the pain you are having or something in addition to it being kidney stones..
