Should I go to the hospital???

Hi. Male, 34. I do not have insurance. I went to the only hosp. in town abt. a year ago and found out that there were a couple very small stones and one 7 I believe.. Had been having stomach issues that I assumed was stomach-bug/food for several days before I had the sharp pains in my left side that had me doubled over. I had to go to the ER because I had no idea what was happening to me and could barely stand the pain. After almost 5 hrs, a CT scan, pain meds, and all other charges I could accrue, I was released and told that the stones should probably be able to be passed with just the regular ado. They did so the next day with the help of the pain meds.
I have not been able to pay back the debt for various reasons, be able to afford a real insurance, or get assistance as of yet.

A few days ago I basically thought I was sick again due to the population that I work with. I felt somewhat better yesterday, but early this morning the pains became more intense but bearable. The pain was in the same area as before but has now moved down a bit maybe. The feeling of needing to urinate is another duplicate symptom.
I am determined to not have to go to the hospital if I can do without it to avoid any more bills. Since the pain isn't crippling and I'm actually able to dictate this concern, I figured I'd wait on my own(with a friend) to see if I'd be able to pass them and hope that it doesn't get worse...
Or should I go to the hosp. to be sure? Any thoughts? I am drinking water and taking ibuprofen..

I don't know what your pain tolerance level is so I can only speak for myself. If I was in your situation, which after 30 plus years of having and dealing with stones, I have been a couple of times, I would get myself to the ER for a urine check and Cat Scan to find out for sure what is going on. I didn't even mention the pain aspect, but when I have a stone/stones, I can't handle that severe pain and need some relief. I have no choice but to go to the ER for that relief. You need to know for sure what is going on and although it may be another kidney stone (s), it may not be also and you need to know for your own well being. Go find out and just pay out your bill, a little at a time.

Andrew, I had the same symptoms and experience 3 years ago, I went to the hospital and they did the same to me. Second time it was the same feeling but not as bad so I did not go to the hospital and it passed in a few days.

Well almost 2 ago now, I had another one so bad I could not take it anymore and went to the hospital, they did the same thing as the first time, I still have not passed the stone yet, they said it was 4mm. I think it has gone through the ureter because there is no pain on the right side, so it may be rolling around in my bladder. Now I have some pain on the right side. I have an app with the kidney Dr Tuesday. I still have 5-6 K/S in both kidneys.

You mentioned 7 in your post, do you mean you have a 7mm stone. If so that maybe very hard to pass. I feel for you man about the insurance situation. As for what you should do, well I myself would go in and have it checked out if you were told one is 7mm.

Let us know how you make out.
