Thanks Dr. Santos!
I have MSK and would like to also suggest you visit our MSK community here on MedHelp at
http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Medullary-Sponge-Kidney-Disease-MSK-/show/256
Many of us MSK'ers find a Uro is better than a Neph for us unless there is kidney damage or disease involved .. sometimes, too, it takes many doctors to finally find one who fully understands MSK. Usually the ER Docs need to do a search on line for it but won't admit it, but you can tell by their face :0

MSK w/stones
Hi,
How is your daughter? Medullary sponge kidney (MSK) is a birth defect of the tubules inside the kidneys and may cause hematuria, kidney stones, and urinary tract infections. A referral to a kidney doctor or nephrologist may help. Treatment for MSK involves managing UTIs, removing kidney stones, and preventing recurrent infections and stones. Take care and do keep us posted.
