I am a postmenopausal woman (65 y). I stopped estrogen treatment in January 2013 but have sometimes used local estrogen and lactic acid. I have had problems with my urinary opening, vaginal atrium and vagina. My distal urethra has been swollen, sore and smarting. On May 7, 2013, I found a "sand" grain betveen my labia. It vas brownish, with innumeral vacuoles and some regular structures, not exactly like microvilli. Maybe such grains, if numerous, irritate my external genitalia, urinary opening and vagina.
A few weeks ago I found another (3-4 mm in dimater) "concretion" from my pharynx. It was multivesicular, and also it had some regular structures around it. Outside it there was a hyaline layer with sparse cells. Many years ago I have had very small concretions (about the size of blood cells) in my saliva. Their surface seems to be smooth. Their interior may be empty. I have thought that they may be sialoliths. I have also had tonsilloliths.
Today (May 11) I took a sample from my vagina on a slide under a microscope. There were cornified epithelial cells and similar small concreations as were those in my saliva. I wanted to take a urinary sample. I allowed my urine to settle and took a sample from the sediment. They were also there, the small concretions!
Could I have calcification in my soft tissues? I have polyuria and partial diabetes insipidus. And many other diseses. I have lots of weird symptoms.
My ionized calcium is now 1.37 (upper ref. limit 1.30). It is only slightly abobe the reference, and sometimes even slightly below. PTH is often above the reference. I'll not have a parathyroidectomy. Recently my endo thought that I may have secondary hyperparathyroidism.
I am having many symptoms. Maybe my vitamin D intake causes my HPT worse. I'll see a nephrologist on next week.
