More information is necessary to stop stones from forming. The doctor you see for this should determine the composition of the stones (there are many types), various blood levels, such as calcium, and a 24 hour collection of urine while you are eating and drinking a regular diet to assess your body's output of various substances that can make you form stones.
Almost always, stones can be prevented or at least slowed down in frequency.
