? On Lap Band

I am am 5'7 at 260lb. and wanting to get the lap band done. I have done some research and have decided to go to Mexico (Monterrey)  to get it done.I am a little worried about going to Mexico but it looks like it cost less. Does anyone have any info about surgery in Mexico.........

I would be very very cautious about going to another country for something like a major surgery. Do you not have insurance that could help you get the procedure done?

Some insurance companies say that you have to do food journals, etc for a certain amount of time before they will pay for it.

This isnt a minor procedure - it's a major operation. Being in a place with nothing familiar (including the language) isn't a place you want to be if something were to go wrong. And besides, you will still need a surgeon for a follow up and a fill, etc and cant go back there everytime.

At 5'7" and 260 - you aren't THAT overweight. I hope you have tried your very hardest with diet/exercise already before considering the surgery. It is by no means an easy option and is just as much diet and exercise after as it is before...
