Acid relux and Lap-band

I have had terrible acid reflux since my surgery in June of 2010 (never had this problem before).  My surgeon put me on Nexium, which I take everyday, but I still get painful attacks (vomiting, feeling like my esophagus is on fire, terrible pain, can't swallow saliva).  I've had some fluid taken out of the band, but now the band isn't working and I'm hungry all the time. I have an appointment with my primary next week -- frustrated that my surgeon isn't helping me.  Advice, please!

this is the exact problem i have had! It got so bad that i put all my lost weight back on. i had my band removed 3 months ago so that i could pursue the gastric sleeve option, which i am having done on Monday! Turns out i had reflux from a hiatal hernia, which they will repair on Monday as well.

O and my surgeon kept telling me it was something i had done wrong. i have a new one now! ask them to organise a barium swallow for you so you can find out if you have hernia as well
