Difficulty eating after broken ankle

by linellen, Aug 14, 2009 02:24PM
I had my final fill the first of May.  Everything was going great.  On May 20 I broke my ankle in 3 places and needed surgery.  My doctor told me to stay off my feet (wheelchair) and to keep my leg elevated.  I had a rough recovery from the ankle surgery.  I noticed as time went by that I was having difficulty eating.  I was able to eat oatmeal for breakfast or cereal.  Soon I was only able to drink my shakes and smoothies made with the protein powder.  At lunch time I had trouble eating anything.  It was uncomfortable and sometimes I would have sliming.  I wonder if the problem is because I am sitting all the time.  I have contacted my doctor who thinks I may have eaten too much and stretched out my esaughogus.  I don't buy that but am going Monday for a Barium xray.  Anyone else been in this situation?
