Lap Band and Hypothyroidism

Is anyone feeling like the Mad Hatter (Alice In Wonderland)? I recently decided to have weight loss surgery. I am leaning toward the lap band. However, during my routine pre-op test(s) a thyroid goiter was found. Has anyone experienced dealing with insurance (North Carolina Access) and having a Endocrine problem?
