Trying to have a baby.....and thinking of doing the LAP BAND....

Hi, I need some advice.....My husband and I are trying to have a baby.  I recently started taking Progesterone and Clomid (which are fertility treatments).  I am overweight....wondering a couple of things...
1.  If we decided to do the lapband first and then have a baby...does anyone know how long you have to wait after having the lab band before you can have a baby?  AND are there any specific complications with pregnancy or lap band if done withing a few months of eachother?
2.  does anyone have specific experience with this?

thank you

Hi,

I have had my lapband for 2 years now, i had it done so that i could loose weight and make it easier to concieve (conceive). To answer your questions i asked the doc about if it was benificial to have it done first and the answer was definatly yes as he said the lighter you are the healthier you are, also my doc recommended to wait 1 year from initial surgury till ttc. He said that if i did fall pregnant in that time all they would do is take all the liquid from the fills out, so that the baby will get the correct nutrition that was needed. However he did strongly advise not to try in that time. Before i had my surgury i had pcos and insulin resistance but now 50kg lighter i only have mild pcos. So it is def worth while giving it a go.
