20,000+ Absolute Neutrophils and very low Lymphocytes

My labs have been a great concern to my Dr's, my WBC count has rose to 20,000+, my lymphocytes and monocytes are really low.  I am having a bone marrow biopsy and aspiration next week.  I have been feeling poorly now for over a year, I had to have a lymph node removed a year and a half ago and I feel like this might have been the starting point of this.  I suffer from fatigue, I have rashes, fevers, and joint problems.  CT's and ultrasounds have showed a mass on my kidney, and bilateral pleural nodes, they are going to be biopsying them as well.  Does this sound like leukemia or lymphoma or any type of cancer?  I would appreciate any input on this.

Thank You,

Spastic

Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it.  I had my bone marrow biopsy on Tuesday, it went really well.  The Oncologist did a wonderful job explaining a lot of things to me and hopefully will get results soon.  He did voice concerns about leukemia and myelofproliferative?   He is also doing some genetic testing and bacterial, infectious, and fungal smears.  I am remaining hopeful that it is not leukemia.

Thank You Again,

Spastic

Hi.  From what you have described this could be a primary hematologic disorder (a leukemia or lymphoma) or the manifestations of increased white counts can be some form of 'paraneoplastic' syndrome from solid tumors.  This is a condition where some solid cancers produce substances that will cause the blood components to react or proliferate.  Given that there is a mass on the kidneys, this should really be biopsied to see if this can be malignant as well.  For now, it is really early to jump to conclusions and I hope taht the bone marrow studies and the biopsy can be done as soon as feasible.  Regards and God bless.
