I would like to know if anyone has CML who is on Gleevec. I have been on Gleevec since Oct. of 2000, and been in remission since July of 2001.
I would like to know what other patients are going through with this battle, and if they have any good advice.

Though I am not personally on gleevec, I have encountered a lot of patients on the drug and have used the drug widely on treating patients. I would like to congratulate you on the persistent remission status and hopefully it will stay that way. I'm sure that your skin has turned fairer or whiter (if you are initially somewhat brown or dark-skinned) as this is one of the side effects of the drugs.
You should also be in constant follow up with your doctor to monitor your blood counts as gleevec can cause low white counts and give rise to many other problems. Skin rashes can also sometimes occur that should resolve on transientTransient ischemic attack Transient ischemic attack (tia) drug withdrawal.
Again, congratulations and I hope you stay in remission!
