Blood tests, chronic luekemia?

I have had an enlarged spleen for 2 years now.  All kinds of tests, hiv, hep c., mono, liver functions, cbcs, all were normal.  But i feel bad, fatigue, loss of well being, depressed, itching on stomach, face and legs, abdominal paid around spleen.  Is is possible i am in an early stage of lymphoma or leukemia and it is just not showing in my blood yet.  I have no enlarged lymph nodes as I have had 2 ct scans, and a liver/spleen scan, showing only the enlarged spleen of 14cm.  Any answers would be appreciated.

my daughter has been ill on and off for some time and has recently come out of hospital after a bad virus, whilst she was in hospital they picked up a low white blood cell count and protein in her urine, they said they looked at the cells under the microscope and they were normal, however, she is still unwell and has just about all symptoms of leukemia, could they be wrong in their diagnosis? does a simple blood test always prove accurate? she is 15yrs old.

Hi.
What other tests were done on you?
Have you had a peripheral blood smear done?
There are many causes of an enlarged spleen aside from leukemia and lymphoma.
If one has defective red blood cells, the spleen will trap these abnormal cells, and thus results in splenic enlargement.
The spleen also responds to viral, bacterial, parasitic, or fungal infection, resulting in splenic enlargement.
Sometimes, the spleen also enlarges when there is an abnormal blood flow to it.
It would be best to go back to your doctor to discuss other causes of splenic enlargement, and hopefully this will give you peace of mind.
Good luck.
