Rituximab subcutaneous NHL

by sally853, Oct 25, 2009 01:14AM
Has anyone had Rituximab delivered by a subcutaneous method (instead of IV)?
Is this a mainstream treatment or experimental? Thanks for any information.

I recently had 8 weekly Rituxan iv infusions.  I have never heard of subcutaneous.
Please let us know if you find out.

there is this brand new trial:
"A Pharmacokinetic Study of Subcutaneous and Intravenous MabThera (Rituximab) in Patients With Follicular Lymphoma
This study is currently recruiting participants.
Verified by Hoffmann-La Roche, October 2009"

http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00930514

I also remember a couple of years ago there was talk of injecting RTX into the intraperitoneal cavity to combat lymphoma that was localized there.
