Thanks for the response. I have actually had drenching night sweats for about 3 years. I have also had about 3 chest xrays over the last two years. Hopefully if I did have lymphoma those would have shown something. I have been to an oncologitst too who did a bone marrow biopsy and that came back negetive. I guess the fact that my EBV is chronic I have chronic symptoms, and sometimes I wonder if it is really something else. Thanks again!
My daughter tested positive for EBV after she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's and that is usually the lymphoma associated with EBV. I would just suggest to watch for signs of Hodgkin's which is night sweats (drenching), weight loss, fever, itching, cough. Although my daughter just had a cough and it took 8 weeks of going to the doctor before they did a chest x-ray and found a large mass in her chest. With Hodgkin's the lymph nodes are usually nontender and there is alcohol associated pain in the lymph nodes after drinking alcohol. Other than that I would not try to worry to much. My little sister had Mono and so far she has been fine and she is 40 years old now. I am not sure they (doctors) know what the percentage is of those who have had EBV and come down with Hodgkins, they just know that it has been associated with getting Hodgkin's lymphoma. You could try to research it some or make an appointment with a specialist and speak to him/her about it. Good Luck.
