Axillary Adenopathy, High platelets, skin pigmentation

Hi
Does anyone have similar symptoms:
axillary adenopathy (dismissed by GP as "common")
recent gallbladder removal due to a year of problems
High platelets just recently (557,000)
Anyone have any suggestions?  Should I seek another opnion?  I also have severe night sweats where I feel drenched around my neck, ankles and chest.

Hi.
You can go to any internist for a second opinion.
The decision to undergo further examinations will depend on the evaluation of the internist.

Hi
I can't feel anything.  It was just strange a CT scan of my chest came up with those.  I'm not sure who to go to for a 2nd opinion.  I'm sweating all the time and really not overweight.  Should I go to a hospital for more CT scans??? help I saw my GP today and he said not to worry about high platelets since I had surgery 10 days prior.  not sure what to do but find another dr , what specialist could I go to

Hi.
Palpable lymph nodes may be biopsied in order to have a more definitive diagnosis.
I would suggest to get a second opinion from another physician.
You are experiencing symptoms, and that warrants further examination.
Good luck.

Hi Dr. Dennis
The axillary adenopathy was early Dec, but like I said I have no idea if it is still there as no follow up has been done.  I can't seem to feel anything there.
The sweating has been going on before the axillary adenopathy. The weight loss has been more significant in the last few months I guess around the timeframe of the axillary adenopathy.
They never told me the cause of the rectal bleeding.
Should axillary adenopathy be biopsied in most cases?  Or left as "common" I had no infections at that time so I'm at a loss for what would cause it.

Thanks

Hi.
Yes, it may still be within the timeframe.
When did you notice the axillary adenopathy? Any increase in size?
Did it coincide with the sweating and weight loss?
What was the cause of rectal bleeding?
A biopsy of the axillary lymphadenopathy may be helpful to determine if it is indeed lymphoma.

Hi Dr. Dennis
I have had CBC, no anemia or iron deficiency,
My GI did a colonoscopy and just found some rectal bleeding otherwise no findings.
My WBC was ok.
My cholestectomy was over two weeks prior to the platelets being elevated would that timeframe still cause elevated platelet count?
The sweating (esp at night has been progressing for months over 6)

I was willing to dismiss the axillary adenopathy as common but then the platelets. I have lost a lot of weight too (some by diet but alot not trying too hard)
When I had the CT scan at the hospital the ER dr said to check on lymphoma because of the axillary adenopathy but my GP said if it were lymphoma the adenopathy would have been severely swollen.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi.
Here are some of the causes of high platelet count: iron-deficiency anemia, malignancy, inflammatory bowel disease, infection, hemolysis, hemorrhage, polycythemia,  myelofibrosis, myelodysplasia, post surgery, or rebound (after cessation of ethanol intake).
Do you have any other symptoms?
Axillary adenopathy can be a result of acute or chronic infection.  Certain cancers can also present with such.
Night sweats can be a manifestation of an endocrine problem or malignancy like lymphoma.
You can have a repeat complete blood count with actual platelet count.  Also, you may seek consult from an internist for further evaluation and other laboratory examinations.  By this, the cause of your symptoms can be elucidated.
Good luck.
