Liver Function

In Total liver Function Laboratory  Blood Test results (Alanine Amino Transferase Serum) conducted for Total Liver Function  shows presence of low ALT or low SGPT levels of 14 . This result  is quite below the  range limits specified in the lab. test report which is between 17-63 .. Please intimate what will happen if it further reduces in the ALT levels   and how to increase the ALT levels or how to come out from this problem .  
  *  Is it relates to early death of a person ?.
        * Present age of the patient is 55 years old and is Male.
            *  Kindly reply and what medicines to be taken to increase the low ALT  levels to bring with in the above range limits.                    UNITS  =  IU/L         H/L =  L    min.     Range 17-63

The only reason for low liver enzymes to be important is if the liver synthesis and excretory functions are also suffering. This would be indicated by: low albumin, low A/G ratio and high bilirubin levels. Bit, if these are ok, and there are low enzyme levels, then the liver is very healthy. But only if the numbers listed are a problem, then seeing a GI doctor is needed.

But I hope that this is not the case, and much more likely, he is very healthy ... and no worries.
