35 y/old femal elevated ast, alt and milk thistle

  I recently had a liver function test come back with elevated ast and alt.  I have an appointment with a specialist in 2 weeks.  In the meen time I bought a liver cleans and milk thistle,  the milk thistle makes my side ( in the liver area) hurt.  From a dull throb to sometimes more piercing.  I norrowed it down and it is the milk thistle.  I have searched all over the internet and have found no reports of negative side effects.  Is this harming me more?

also,  I do drink,  (not since my blood test though)  I do have a history of graves disease in both my mother and grandmother,  I do have a few symptomes related to it.  If my thyroid is acting up could this also increase my liver enzymes?
