4 years of high AST/ALT

HI Everyone,

These counts are driving me insane.  I did talk to my doctor and I felt nothing was accomplished.  A little about me I am 5'8 190 ...I am thinking I am overweight.  I am a social drinker no more that 7 drinks per weak.

This is my problem in 2013 my AST/ALT was 43/103 all other tests fine.
2014 AST/ALT 70/167 all other tests fine.  CSCAN doctor told me fatty liver
2015 AST 25/52  Didn't worry about it again.
2016 AST/ALT 43/103 all other tests fine.

THREE QUESTIONS
1.How do I know if it a fatty liver from food or alcohol?   No one has ever told me.
2. Can you just live with a fatty liver and not have it progress into anything else?
3. Does this mean if I have a drink socially or eat a steak I'm going to die of cirrhosis?

Sorry for all the questions but I feel no one has given me a real answer and when I talked to my doctor he does not seem concerned at all??

Thanks
3.

Hi I am another patient like you are.  If you have a fatty liver and don't change your diet, you are damaging your liver.  Yes, it can get to cirrhosis.
If I were you I would stop drinking and start eating better, low salt, no red meat, whole food, no processed. I have a friend who has fatty liver, she sees a hepatologist/liver doc, he told her she can have one drink a year.
I hope you feel better soon.
