ALT of 54 and doc ordered ultrasound.

I am a 45 year old male and had a 54 (Range max was 40) ALT on my physical exam. All other stuff was normal. I don't drink, and was neg on all hepatitis. I do have hypothyroid which could affect ALT. I was slightly hypo 4 weeks before this test but at time of test was normal.

So what is this likely? And is fatty liver disease easy to reverse with diet? I read that 54 is still within normal for many labs, so does it matter that my reference range on my lab said anything above 40 is high?

Any insights you guys can offer?
