AST value 117!!!! ALT value of 60!!!

AST(SGOT).................117 value.................<40 U/L H Reference Range
ALT(SGPT)...................60...........................<41 U/L H

Both are high, but I don't know what exactly this means.  What is it indicative of?

I had an ultrasound done today, and it seems that all is fine by the fine lady that performed it on me.  But I have to wait on doctor's opinion.

What's next for me?  A repeat of my bloodtest?  I don't hardly ever drink but I did drink about 36hrs before the test was done.  I don't know if that effects it.  My doctor also said I have to talk to a kidney specialist as I'm losing protein from my kidneys.  Don't know if that means anything or is related.

I do experience pain in my right side where the liver is.

How bad were those numbers above?

Hello and hope you are doing well.

The enzymes are elevated in liver disorders. Besides this they are also elevated in conditions like muscle injury and sometimes due to medications. The pain could be due to kidney disorders also. If you are a diabetic the protein leak could be due to diabetic nephropathy. Discuss these options with your consulting doctor.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
