Alcoholic Liver Disease

I am 32 years and female and I drank heavily for 10 years.

I have been experiencing symptoms over the last 2 years and I am concerned that I may have Liver Disease.  Symptoms have included:

* Nausea (gone)
* Right side abdominal pain (gone)
* Burning and red palms (recent symptom)
* Swollen breasts (could this be linked to increased Oestrogen?)
* Terry's Nails (I think)

I have had over 15 LFT tests, an MRI, an Ultrasound scan, 2 Fibroscans and 2 Fibrotests and all have come back completely normal.
My LFT tests and enzymes have not changed value much at all in the last 5 years and are all in the normal range.

I have a High ASO Titre.

Is there still a chance that I could have liver disease?  Should I have a Biopsy?

Many thanks,

I have two tumours in my liver I'm also slightly jaundice and have been told that if I drink alcohol again I will develop cirrohsis. I've been sober for nearly 5 month's I'm a recovering alcoholic. What are my chances of developing cirrohsis even if I don't drink. I'm 34 years old my breathing is getting worse and I'm always tierd and just want to sleep and my appatite is not good.

Thank you.  I do agree with you that it is taking a risk, but I would rather know if I had something seriously wrong with me, so I could deal with it medically and psychologically, as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your advice though.

I probably wouldn't go get a biopsy without a really good reason. If your liver panels are turning out good, well consider yourself lucky. Really only about 20% of people are prone to getting alcoholic liver disease, but who wants to take those odds, right?
