Cause for elevated Liver enzymes

by letty51072, Nov 04, 2009 05:29PM
I have done repeated blood work and they all came back negative for the Hep a, b and c but my liver enzymes are still elevated. I am going to have an ultrasound done on Friday 11/6 what can be the cause of this since my blood for everything else was normal

hi depends on what enzymes are elevated if it is just bilirubin it may be gilber's disease.  ALT and AST could mean NAFLD (fatty infiltration of the liver)  sometimes AST can be elevated due to exercise.  It could also mean alchohal induced fatty liver disease.  Could also be elevated due to a certain medicine you are taking.  There are some other reasons as well but those are the ones I can recall off the top of my head.
