Cirrosis of lever

Hallo Dr.
My relative has recently detected -- cirrhosis of lever . As per usg report concerns it detects a shrunken lever . We are really in dark now and we have no  ideas about it except the worst . Patient's age is about 40 and two days before a oesophagus operation ( band-legilation ) done .
Please help . .
Thanks in advance
Abhishek .
(We are not economically well supported and a transplant of lever is out of reach and also fearful  )  .

firts, the cause of the cirrhosis may need to be checked for--viral hepatitis B or C.  if a cause is found then appropriate treatment could be undertaken.  otherwise following for the development of complications is warranted--ongoing variceal band ligation, screening for liver cancer
