Could it be cancer? Please HELP!

My father has two lesions on his enlarged liver and one lesion on his right kidney. He is very pale, cannot eat large amounts of food, has diarrhea, and is very weak. He has severe abdominal pain. CT found the lesions and we are waiting for a biopsy to be done-it is taking forever to be approved by HMO and scheduled at the busy hospital. I worry about these "lesions" and that his liver cells are dying according to the blood work that was done. I fear that since there are lesions on two separate organs, it may be cancer. Please if you have any ideas or any advice. I am a thousand miles away from him. It is killing me that I cannot be there right now.
