Do I have Cirrhosis ?

by TonyJB, Nov 01, 2009 10:02AM
I am a 59 year old male. I did not drink until 40's and consumed alcohol 4-5 drinks nightly.
My blood tests have been well within normal. AST(23), ALT(28), BILI(.4), ALBUMIN(4.6). I am worried because I do have some of the vague symptoms of the disease. I am so worried about this that I asked my Dr to do other tests that would ease my mind. He ordered an ultrasound which showed a couple of benign liver cysts and said my liver was a little fatty. He told me to loose weight and that would take care of itself.
My question is with these test results how convinced should I be that I don't have Cirrhosis ?

I wouldn't be concerned if I were you.

hi..am not sure about ur lab. results , because it differs, u can check the reference ranges in ur lab. result paper to know if they are within normal levels or not...but as regards the ultrasound, don't worry, if u have cirrhortic liver , it would appear by ultrasound....simple cysts and little fatty liver don't mean cirrhosis..Thank u.
