Elevated Liver Enzymes

by Nicnackp, Sep 16, 2009 02:53PM
Hi, I do not drink alcohol, I am not overweight, I eat right, exercise an hour a day.   Two months ago went to the doctor for a regular physical found out my ALT and AST liver enzymes were in the low 200's.  Have now had six blood tests, an Ultrasound of pretty much all of my organs and have had a liver biopsy.  Everything has come back fine other then these liver enzymes which keep going up and are now in the low 300's.

I do not take aspirin or other medications the only thing that has changed for me in the last year was ACL surgery.  Could the titanium in my knee effect my liver enzymes?

Titanium would not effect your liver enzymes. You probably have some sort of liver problem that just has not manifested. There are liver diseases that can cause the enzymes to elevate and not show early physical signs. If your not having any physical problems. I would have the test redone in two months. Actually i would get a second opinion, having the test done again. This could be a wait and see case. Get a second opinion or see your personal physician for further evaluation of your individual case.
