Elevated Liver results and caffeine

by Happy_haylee_3, Oct 22, 2009 11:26PM
I recently had some blood tests done at the doctor and they came back with elevated liver levels. (Had it done twice, came back elevated both times). But right before both appointments, I consumed an "intense NRG concentrate shot". I'm not sure how much caffeine is in one but i'm assuming a lot. I'm now wondering if the high levels of caffeine in my blood could have made the liver results higher than normal? Or possibly made for a false reading? My ultimate question is: does caffeine affect liver enzyme levels?

My second question is just out of curiousity, how do they correct elevated liver levels and are they really a big deal?

**Edited to add, I also NEVER drink caffeine aside from the 2 NRG shots I had before the two separate appointments. Just wanted to add that those drinks aren't a daily occurence and it was just ironic that I had had one before each appointment. Those two shots are probably the only time i've consumed caffeine in the past year, if that makes a difference.
