Elevated blood values

Hello -

Recent elevated blood values:

C-Reactive Protein 6.10mg/L
ALT 146 U/L
AST 52 U/L

have me concerned.  My GI has also scheduled a hepatitis panel (results not back yet) and an Ultrasound (tomorrow), but I'm trying to get a handle on the possibilities.  Can you help?

Thanks!

Loren

Your CRP is double the normal, as you already know. But this is a very non-specific test - this elevation can be due to many things. And your liver enzymes are skewed to the ALT end of things which points to something directly affecting your liver. But only your doctor can diagnose this for you, and the US imaging, along with periodic blood tests, certainly make sense. Good luck and let us know how you are doing. Take care.
