weight reduction and limiting bad fats is key. make sure you eat plenty of veggies. Coffee might help the liver as well.. but i hear it has to be black. gotta go with diet. would stay away from miracle cures... no fasting either.
I suggest, you google all the information you can about 'fatry liver' look into other alternatives if the current medication does not work, Most scientific doctors will not trust the use of herbs and plants and supplements but its down to you in the end, Everyone has their own views and the replies your getting reflect that. Even with my own condition there is conflicting advise, so you have to make the choice we are only giving you insights as to what has helped or not from our own experiences....
Good luck
Hi there, Ialso have fatty liver. If you have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes it is common due to obesity. The only known solution to fatty liver that I have explored is weight reduction and watching your fat intake. cutting calories and letting your hepatologist, endocrinologist know what you are feeling like physically. Liver cleansing diets do little for the overall treatment of fatty liver and can exaserbate liver irritation and disfunction. Be wary of ''miracle cures'' or liver ''eliers'' that claim to cure fatty liver. Weight management is key to remission of fatty liver even if your liver is able to repair itself some damage [scar tissue] may remain. Be careful with things like Tylenol and Motrinwhile having bouts of NASH, this can impair your liver's ability to cleanse your body of toxins. If you are on statin medications discuss lowering thedose with your doctor to see if the symptoms and problems lessen. Drug induced liver disease can cause fat to accumulate in your liver also. Steer clear of herbs and suppliments..this will worsen fatty liver. My cousin is a doctor and when I was diagnosed with fatty liver my hepatologist said to not use liver cleanses or herbs in any form or in any way. I hope this helps. Good health and luck to you in the future.
Hello, Im also on Ursodiol 250mg one in the morning and two at night, in Australia its know as Usodeoxycholic acid, actually I googled this at work this morning as I was curious about the its use. Deffinately fatty liver, was one of them. I actually lost 20kg in 4 months last year and then started having GB problems, surgeon says it was down to the weight loss in too a short time, (seemed like a lifetime to me at the time though)! The Liver Cleansing Diet claims to reverse 'fatty liver' so google it and read up good luck :-)

I've had Fatty Liver for several years Stage 1 N.A.S.H. I went back to U.Va. medical center on Monday, now I'm stage 2-3. They also told me to control my weight, I'm 6' 213 lbs. they want me below 200. Dr. Caldwell put me on Ursodiol 250mg., Niacin 1000mg, and Vit. E 250. I go back in 6 months to see if there's any change in my B.W.
