I've been having gallbladder problems. It started the day after St. Patrick's day this year. We (my husband and I) had a cook out where i ate too much, and drank way more then i ever have in my life. Woke up the next day with sour stomach and nasty burps. That progressed into some really severe pains, for awhile i thought i was going to die.
Way before the party i was stated on birth control before i got married last year the birth control made me crazy, moody, depressed. I thought one day that life was really hard and stupid and maybe it wasn't really worth it. Which isn't me AT ALL, after thinking it i was so surprised i decided to stop taking my pills because they were the only thing that was new in my life, plus my mom cant take the pill because it makes her react similar to what i had but worse.
I look up the side effects of my birth control and one of the possible side effects is gallbladder disease. So i stopped taking them and got switched to a lower dose pill. My gallbladder pain went from being a 9 teetering on the edge of a 10 "omg get me to the hospital now!" kind of pain. To when i don't have any pain which is most days now and i only feel discomfort when i slip up and eat something i really shouldn't.
Besides some mild discomfort and some pain i'd call a 2 or 3 maybe, i feel so much better. My main question is can gallstones be passed? I went to the bathroom here awhile back (i did not have to urinate) and while i was using the bathroom i heard something in the toilet make a sound like a small rock had been dropped in and hit the porcelain of the toilet, i want about to go fishing around in there for whatever it was, but i don't eat rocks i know that for sure.
Could i have passed a gall stone? I eat tons of beets and if i'm not drinking water i'm drinking cranberry juice (usully cranapple or crangrape) I am over weight so i'm sure the birth control didn't cause it ALL but it does seem to have dome some damage.
Is it possible that if i keep eating well that my gallbladder will get better?
Thanks!
