Genotype3 Hoping

I've had HepC for about 30 years. Last year, I did the Sovaldi/Ribavirin therapy. 12 weeks into treatment, I was virus-free, continued that way through the 24-wk. treatment, but had relapsed by my 3-month, post-treatment labs in December. A liver biopsy in March told me I have cirrhosis-not critical stage, but still....I'm wondering if any new drug therapies have been recently FDA-approved that target Genotype 3?

Hi there I am so sorry to hear you relapsed, I know how discouraging that can be.  fntn is right, there is a HepC forum, you can click here.

http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Hepatitis-C/show/75

From helping others there is not anything out there right now for Geno 3 other than what you have done however there are new medications being researched all the time.

There is also a cirrhosis of the liver forum

http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Cirrhosis-of-the-Liver/show/1390

There are many helpful people on here, perhaps there is Stage 3 trial you could try to get in to

Good luck
Dee

There are two other communities here on the forum that you might want to post your questions on: Hepatitis-C and Hepatitis-C : Post Treatment. We can help a bit here but the people on the other two forums will have a wealth of knowledge directly related to Hep-C. And your right, given that you're not yet dealing with full end-stage cirrhosis, the time for any additional treatments is now. Take care.
