Gilberts disease and hemochromatosis

How is Gilberts disease diagnosed and is it ever possible for it to be missed diagnosed in a patient that has hereditary hemochromatosis?

I was diagnosed with Gilbert's syndrome 17yrs ago, its raised bilirubin in your blood, makes you jaundice apparently a few people have it from what Ive read its just a blood test. when i was diagnosed nobody seemed to know much about it. There is alot on information on the net its sometimes called GS.
