Help

Ok i'm at a loss for what to do.  My liver test came with AST/ALT 382 and 371.  What is wrong with me.  They tested for hep, but that was negitive.  I had two liver scans that show a fatty liver.  I'm about 35 pounds over weight, trying to get this off with wokring out.  I did go through chemo and radiation 4.5 years ago, could that have caused some damage to the liver?  Only meds i'm on is paxil 40 mgs per day and levoxyl for my thyroid 150mgs.

Hi Jack,

thanks I figured it was from the paxil as well, i've been on it for 16 years so go figure.  Like I said I'm going to the liver doctor on Feb 1.  I will try and eat better drink less and drop some weight.

Thanks

Greetings Nootie (and board)

I've been absent here for sometime, battling my own hepatic (and related, unrelated health demons)... Forgive me...

It is my opinion, that many drugs (and environmental toxins, preservatives, western diets, etc) can contribute over both the short and long duration of exposure, towards hepatic problems.  Both my brother and I have taken SSRI antidepressants for a long time, and we both have fatty liver and other issues.  Not saying to ditch your prescriptions - as I need mine... I do try to eat a bit healthier now and mindful about what I put in my mouth and how often I exercise.

Hopefully your enzyme levels will drop....  Mine had at last test, but I am awaiting bloodwork that was drawn a week ago.

Cheers,

Jack
