Glad you were able to track it down to the kidneys. Was it primarily due to the renal insufficiency or were there secondary effects being caused by the CKD treatment medications?

just an update, checked AMA, negative result, did ECG, no blockage visible, went to liver specialist and he identified it as due to higher blood creatinine level and also medication consumptions

Please keep in mind we are not doctors here. Just here to try and help understand what your doctors have said or tested. No diagnosis for sure.

The fact she has CKD and that the kidney-to-liver link can be quite complicated, a peek may provide some much needed extra info. You simply don't have enough data to draw any conclusions. Also, a AMA test would help ruleout the PBC possibility - not likely with the normal to slightly elevated ALT levels but she is elderly and the ALP has remained elevated chronically for 6 months.

will do, but any suggestion as to what these readings might mean?

Probably a good time to ask her doctor to take a peek via ultrasound, do a general survey to see if anything is amiss.

Billirubin 11 (ref range 0 - 26)
Patient has anemia, controlled by Erythropoietin injection once a month
So is this bile flow obstruction?

How about her blood work, any anemia, etc? Also, was an antibody screen done .... ana, ama? Direct/indirect bilirubin should help confirm any mild bile flow impedment.
