The liver has a good ability to recover from acute insults like this. I'm sure your wife's doctor will do follow-up liver function tests later to be sure her values are heading back, or have returned, to normal.
The most important thing you can do for her at this point is to (gently) impress upon her the danger of self-medicating, and (strongly) reinforce how much you love her and want her to be around to grow old with you.
