Is this something I should be concerned about?

I have been having issues of extreme fatigue, and digestive issues.  I went to the doctor and he did some blood work.  My iron was very low, also my Bilirubin count was low.  He did not seemed too concerned about the bilirubin count being low.  Is this something I should be concerned about?  In simple terms what does it mean that my count is low?

Sounds like your digestive issues may be causing malabsorption which can cause the fatigue.  I hope your doc is able to get to the cause of your issues soon.

Hang in there and take care!

He has not said anything about anemia.  It was below normal range i am taking iron supplements.  He thinks my low iron is due to my digestive process.  Im not digesting anything well.  So im not getting the nutrients I need.  I have chronic diareaha, also problems like bloating upset stomach.  He has tested me for food allergies but i dont have any.  So he thinks something is wrong in my G-I tract, Im waiting on some tests to see if they can find out whats wrong.  I am currently taking digestive enzymes they help alittle but im still fatigued through all of this.

Your doc is right to not be concened about low bilirubin it being low is never a bad thing.  As for the low iron, is it below normal range?  Has your doc tested you for anemia?  I would try bringing your iron counts up and see if that doesn't help.  What sort of digesitve issues are you having?
