Thank you very much for your reply which has updated my knowledge on this issue.
I sincerely hope that it would disappear with time and will surely monitor this time to time.
Your reassurance leaves me calm.... :)
Thanks once again and do appreciate your prompt responses to my posts.
God bless you and a hug for you.
The causes for cysts are mostly unknown. Some people are born with them and others have diseases that tend to be associated with them. But they are usually simple, fluid filled, thin tissue sacks filled with mostly bile like fluids. However, a variety of parasites can cause them as well, and these are complex cysts that usually require treatment.
I have several cysts myself and I do have a biliary disease that is known to be related to them. They remain constant and not growing, so we simply monitor them via imaging. Since your cyst is clear and without any septations, the simple cyst diagnosis is likely very correct.
Thanks a ton....it is reassuring to know that it is nothing to be worried about....any growth in any form is a cause for anxiety for anybody and that is why I was concerned...however, will have to monitor this definitely when the next USG is done maybe within 6 months or so. Just a question for my knowledge, why and how does this happen ?? :) Pl update me on this ok.
I really do appreciate your response.
Thank you once again and God bless.
You'll be fine, a simple liver cyst is fairly common and easy to identify. The radiologist also made comments about your intrahepatic bile ducts remaining undilated and your portal vein is normal as well. This means that the cyst is not causing any side effects within your liver, due to compressive forces. Your doctor will simply monitor the cyst for any changes in the future. And sometimes, the cyst can be reabsorbed and completely disappear.
Take care and we're here if anything changes.
