There is a blood test they can do to show if you may have cancer. Mine was good but they went ahead and did a CT Scan to be sure. That rulled out me having cancer. I didn't have the lesions which is good. Maybe he wants a biopsy of the lesions to tottaly rule out cancer for you. CT SCAN to show not having cancer.
i have nash i was 17 when they found it im 18 now umm i see a specialist every 3 months im in a hospital study that my stomach doctor referred me too. the specialist name is Arul sanyal he works at the VCU Medical Center in Richmond , Virginia . The meds they study with works ive seen an improvement with my liver . My enzymes were over 200, 65 is normal the treatment is working if you know anyone pass this on my name is Amanda by the way take care
My platelets had been 39 and my GI wouldn't do the biopsy until they were 60 because of the possibility of bleeding. The only problem with the infusions (except for being prohibitively expensive) is that they don't last very long. At least they last longer than putting in platelets. Hope this helped!
I just went through a week of gamma globulin infusions to bring up my platelets. They are now 248,000 so I can get a liver biopsy to see how much damage has been done by HEP C. The infusions were ordered by my hemotologist who has been treating my ITP.
My brother had NASH but in order to determine it they tried going thru his neck because of the blood thinning thing in his body. I don't know what meds they used but they did finally get his blood built up good enough to go in the normal way. It took them at least a month though before they tried it. That's all I can tell you, all I know
