Liver Cancer - I think?

I was wondering if anyone else has something close to my problem.. I had a CAT scan on my lower abdomen last month and 3 lesions showed up on my liver.
I went to have a biopsy done down through my jugular as o have a very low platelet count of 19,000 - common count is 150,000 to 450,000.
after being in the hospital the surgeon came and said that he spoke with my doctor and my doctor said he needed more than a common biopsy but needed one of one of the lesions...  He said he'd have to go in through the skin...  So he gave me 2 bags of platelets to bring my count up. After that I had a reading of 25,000 and he said he would go nowhere near my liver unless he could get them to 50,000 but said he could put platelets into me all day and would never get them that high...
Now, I still don't know if they are cancerous or not. I did have chirrhosis of my liver which ups my chance but apparently not that bad. they said they could see some scarring on my liver.  II know I have a multitude of sins going here, but was wondering if anyone else had anything near this and just what they did.
Everything my regular doctor wants to try, my surgeon says is too dangerous because of the bleeding... I'm between a rock and a hard place here.... Any help or suggestions would be MORE than welcome .... Thanks in advance.... Chuck

There is a blood test they can do to show if you may have cancer. Mine was good but they went ahead and did a CT Scan to be sure. That rulled out me having cancer. I didn't have the lesions which is good. Maybe he wants a biopsy of the lesions to tottaly rule out cancer for you.  CT SCAN to show not having cancer.

My platelets had been 39 and my GI wouldn't do the biopsy until they were 60 because of the possibility of bleeding. The only problem with the infusions (except for being prohibitively expensive) is that they don't last very long. At least they last longer than putting in platelets. Hope this helped!

I just went through a week of gamma globulin infusions to bring up my platelets. They are now 248,000 so I can get a liver biopsy to see how much damage has been done by HEP C. The infusions were ordered by my hemotologist who has been treating my ITP.

My brother had NASH but in order to determine it they tried going thru his neck because of the blood thinning thing in his body.  I don't know what meds they used but they did finally get his blood built up good enough to go in the normal way.  It took them at least a month though before they tried it. That's all I can tell you, all I know
