Hi mom, i was told that normal Bilirubin is 3-17  and normal ALT is 5-40  i think he said

my first test B/rubin was 24 ALT 48

2nd test B/Rubin  19  ALT 71       2nd test was taken 4 days after 1st.

I told doctor that i had HEP b and C test 9 and 10 weeks after poss exposure but he insisted that i have a new test and a new LFT test which they did yesterday and awaiting results. He said all my otehr LFT  results was in the normal range.
I think its my liver cause the other day about 2 weeks ag to be infact i had a burning itching sensationa ll over my chest and under my arm pits, i been told this could be because liver disease??? what do you think MOM21

Can you call the doctor and obtain a copy of your complete bloodwork.  In the U.S. the lab usually prints a normal range next to each.  I would still try to do a search on the internet that should also help you find what ranges our normal.  A slightly elevated bilirubin and the ALT you provided doesn't mean much by itself.  Has your doctor evaluated your stool or tested you for parasites?  Why do you think it is your liver that is the issue?  Do you have any right upper quadrant pain?  Has your doctor felt your liver?  Have they checked you gallbladder or pancrease as well?

I just wanted to ask what your location was?  I know that under 1.2 is normal for bilirubin in the U.S. and that is why at 24 I thought it you may be outside the U.S.  You can search for test result ranges on the internet and that may help give you an idea.  Do you have the results of your full liver function tests.  Those may be helpful also.

Good luck!
