My 15 yr old son had abnormal liver enzymes on his blood test.

What can cause a 15 (whom doesn't drink alcohol, or do illegal drugs, hell won't take a tylenol unless headaches are really bad)? Then the second test come back with a much lower reading.... we really didn't change anything in his diet. His older sister (now 17) was diagnosed with 4 blood clotting disorders, can they have anything to do with his elevated liver enzymes? Lupus, Devics, ITP, High Blood Pressure, Stroke, and other hereditary (and non-) run in the family....do I need him retested for something specific?

What kind of doctor is your son seeing? I would take him to a gastrointerologist. I would also take him to a rhuematologist for autoimmune testing and not just for liver. They'll probably test for other things. Just to be on the safe side.

What kind of high enzymes are you talking about?

Another hereditary disease to consider is autoimmune hepatitis.  Other then that did his doctor suggest any other tests?

When my enzymes went up (way up) and took 6 months to come back down it was due to autoimmune hepatitis but other then that I really don't know as there could be many issues, sorry I can't be of more help.
