My Liver Biopsy Report?

Okay...this is my Liver Biopsy Report.
1.   Chronic hepatitis C  (Grade 2)
2.   Stage 1 fibrosis
3.   Negative for STEATOSIS
4.   Iron Stain is negative
5.   Trichrome and Reticulin stains are confirmatory
6.   Negative for Alpha-I  Antitrypsin Granules by the PAS with and without Diastase Methodology
Gross Description
Received informalin are four cylindrical fragments o tan tissue ranging in length from 0.3 up to 1.2 cm and all having a diameter of 0.1 cm. Entirely submitted in one cassette.  AE/1

Can anyone tell me if I'm in BIG TROUBLE.
DO I HAVE TIME TO WAIT FOR TREATMENTS WITHOUT INTERFERON & RIBOVIRIN?

This is very good news. You can wait for newer, more effective and shorter duration treatments that will come to market in the next few years if you choose to. They should be available soon without peg-interferon. And there may be some treatments without ribavirin also in the next 3-5 years.
Many folks would like to have a liver biopsy report like this. You have very little liver disease (stage 1).

Do they know what is causing your liver disease?

I think I contracted HepC in the late 1970's. It was risky behavior which of course I regret. I remember being very sick and went to the hospital. They didn't give me much information. Then in the mid-1980's it was diagnosed as Non-A and Non-B Hepatitis. By that time, I had cleaned-up my act and haven't had any complications since being sick in the late-1970's. I made some friendships with other Hep-C patients recently. They recommended I get a liver biopsy. This was the first one I've had. I am so blessed that I stopped the risky behavior when I did! I eat well, drink a lot of green tea and take dietary supplements for liver wellness. No alcohol, drugs, or Vitamin A.

I checked out the MedScape article. It was presented in a very clinical manner, most of which I did not understand. But I get the nuanced inference I'm safe for now. I take very good care of myself. I eat very well; exercise; drink a lots of green tea; and take complimentary dietary supplements for liver wellness. I know I'm pretty lucky and I'm doing everything I can to keep my disease at bay.
