Platelets and cirrhosis. Disability insurance

Hi
guys,
I have these questions.
Does anybody here had platelets above 200 and still had been diagnosed
with cirrhosis?

Also I am working as a contractor with no disability insurance.
I am computer programmer.
Should I switch now to full time with employer's disability insurance
or making more money and be able to cover like 3-4 months would be
sufficient. Basically how long I can be disabled with cirrhosis before
I get liver transplant or go to better world?
Again my work is not physical but mental impairment will disable me.

Thank you very much,

Sergei

Lots of questions.  The disability and financial ones I will leave  alone since I am looking into alot of the same.  increased platlets can be significant of alot of different things.  Most common is inflammation.  They also can be increased with some types of anemia.  You may want to ask your physcian's nurse to get better answers.  How long to wait for transplant. That has so many factors.  How bad is your need.  How many people ahead of you, matching is important. Again I would either contact your MD staff, or possible look into local information center on liver transplants.  You may also try checking with your state health dept.  If you are unable to work after transplant you might want to also check on any state financial assistance available.  I do know that in WA and alot of states disability ins will either be so high in price or denied all together  due to your current medical condition.  Good Luck and God bless.
