My mother is a 53 years-old female. In 2006, she had an abdominal ultrasound due to symptoms of nausea. This showed a hyperechoic lesion measuring 2.5*2.3 cm, and the doctor concluded that it was a hemangioma.
Recently, in 2014, she had another abdominal ultrasound because of symptoms of nausea. This time, there was an ovoid-shaped echogenic lesion that measured 3.5*2.9*3.3 cm. Additionally, her blood work shows an abnormal level of alkaline phosphatase (135). Is this something to worry about? Could it be a result of metastatic cancer?
