Raised ALT level. Non Drinker

Hello. My ALT levels came back at 91. Three months ago its was 65. My doctor didn't seem too concerned. He explained I have a fatty liver which I can reverse with diet and exercise. I'm scheduled for an ultra sound and further test soon.

Is 91 too high?

Thank you

Yes, it's too high, but keep in mind that it's not alarming either, this is  considered a mild elevation level. It just lets you know that your liver is currently being irritated by your known fatty liver condition. It doesn't give you any knowledge though about your liver's actual state of health, which is very likely still good since it takes decades of chronic liver issues to cause advanced liver disease and cirrhosis. And your doctor is right, fatty liver can be reversed, and reversed very quickly, sometimes in just a few months. So work will your doctor, diet and exercise, and you'll have nothing to worry about. Be well.
