Symtoms?

Hi
I have yet to see my doctor but thought I could get some answers here. I have been a heavy drinker for along time and now noticing symtoms from it. I have swelling in my abdominal area and pain in lower right rib cage. I also had some itching around my ankles but only lasted about a week. I have since stopped drinking but that has only been a few days. My question is will these symtoms subside on there own without the use of alcohol?

Hi there again and sorry for the delay.  Those #s are pretty good but do show some inflammation.  Staying away from the alcohol will decrease them even further.  Just wondering how your doing abstaining from alcohol?
Please keep me posted.

Hi there Jim
Glad your moving forward with tests.
We can all navigate thru your bloodwork, and tell you pretty accurately what all the #s indicate.  Sometimes Drs can be somewhat vague and you honestly don't understand what's really going on.  We have all walked in your shoes and it can get somewhat concerning at times.  If you would like to post the results we help break them down for you.

Fabulous that your not drinking.  Your liver is trying to alert you that possible damage is happening.  Lets see what the BW shows.
Till then

Thanks Kim for your input. It's nice to talk to someone about what's going on. I did see my doctor on Friday and had blood work done. Also he made an appointment for an ultrasound. He said it wasn't to late but only having him feel around and look at my body wasn't that reassuring for me. I should have results from the blood work in a couple of days. Also my plan is to never drink again. It's been 7 days alcohol free. Thanks again. Jim

That depends if you already have some liver disease.  You are consuming alot of alcohol.  With this amount of drinking and signs of liver issues, I would suggest that you see a Dr for bloodwork and see whats shows up.
You would want them to do a liver panel to find out if there is inflammation.
Your symptoms are worrisome, and hope you've continued to not drink.  Let us know how your doing.
