Time to test hep

Is a test at 7 weeks good for hep b or c to show up ?
Avatar_dr_f_tn
Hi there,
Hepatitis B may be detected as early as 3 weeks after exposure but usually it is recommended to wait at least 6 weeks to get tested for the most accurate results. In case the results are nonconclusive and you are still doubtful you should have a final follow up test 3 months after exposure to make sure you are not infected. Hepatitis C may be detected as early as a few weeks after exposure. It is advisable to wait for at least 8 - 9 weeks after an exposure for the most accurate results. In case the results are nonconclusive and you are still doubtful you should have a final follow up test 3 months after exposure to make sure you are not infected. Do write to me again with more queries.
Best luck and regards!
