Hi, Below is an Ultrasound I had done yesterday. I've had a couple in the past 3 years and they seem to be fairly the same. My doctor told me not worry about these findings, they are somewhat common. I have pain in the right side around the ribs sometimes, but not really to bad. Thank you for your help, and have a good day!!!
RIGHT UPPER QUADRANT ULTRASOUND

studies dated March 15, 2011 and March 17, 2010, as well as April
Liver demonstrates normal size and echotexture. There is a focal
hyperechoic hepatic lesion present within the right lobe measuring 1.8
x 1.6 x 1.6 cm in size, stable. Its homogeneous echogenic appearance
and stability are in keeping with benign hemangioma.
No intrahepatic or extrahepatic biliary ductal dilatation noted.
Common bile duct measures 4 mm in caliber.
Visualized pancreas and right kidney unremarkable. Right kidney
measures 12.4 cm in length.
Gallbladder demonstrates the presence of an intraluminal polyp 3 mm in
A hemangioma is a collection of blood vessels. In most cases a liver hemangioma will never grow and will never cause problems. A liver hemangioma if it is increasing in size and causing compressive it needs to be treated. That's why a follow up is needed, to see for changes. As the gall bladder polyp is small and not causing any obstructive symptoms, it may not need therapy now. However, a follow up is mandatory to see for changes in size.
