What is wrong with my liver?

After several years of looking pregnant I finally recieved a Comprehensive Metabolic Panel test. Everything seemed to be normal except for the following:
Chloride ...............H 109
Gluccose .............H 121
SGOT (AST) ....... H  120
SGPT (ALT) .........H  158

*also they found an 18 mm hyperattenuating right hepatic lobe lesion.
I'm scared... my doctor is on vacation & I don't know what all this means??? Also I'm 56 and not a drinker.. Scared!

Your say you recieved a Comprehensive Metabolic Panel test.
Where are the creatinine, albumin, bilirubin tests results? They indicate the condition of your liver disease if any?

"After several years of looking pregnant"
What do you mean? Did you have a swollen abdomen? Please describe what you mean.

The lesion:
If you have cirrhosis of the liver or hepatitis B then you have a higher risk of liver cancer than the general public. Do you have hepatitis B?
What stage is your liver disease? Biopsy report will tell you. If you don't have these conditions it is unlikely that you have liver cancer.
If you do have advanced liver disease (cirrhosis) you should be seeing a hepatologist at a liver transplant center where they can properly evaluated your liver disease and diagnosis any issues you have related to your liver disease.

Hypoattenuation is a term used to describe areas that show up as whiter and brighter than normal. It really tell us nothing about what type of lesion it is. It is 1.8 cm which should be large enough to diagnose what it is. The ONLY medical personal that can reliably diagnose the difference between a benign lesion and liver cancer are at liver transplant centers. The techs have to setup the equipment correctly and it takes a doctor to interpret the image who on a daily basis diagnose cysts and other benign growths as well as liver tumors (HCC).

Your blood tests only indicate that something is injuring your liver which is why your ALT and AST are high. But there can be many causes so it is up the your doctor to diagnose the cause of the injury to your liver. You need to see a gastroenterologist or if you have advanced liver disease a hepatologist to do this. Other doctors are not qualified to care for you.

I am afraid that the information you have provided does not provide enough real data to make any conclusions of your condition. If you provide more of a history of your medical history, symptoms, blood tests and scan information we could better help you.

Cheers!
Hector
