elevated ALT

I am a 62 yo female in good health.  I usually jog 2-3 miles a day.  The morning of my blood test I jogged to the clinic about 2 1/2 miles.  My ALT came back as 64 and my AST was within the normal range being31.  Could the exercise have made my ALT elevate?  All the rest of my testing was fine

The values of ALT and AST are 7 to 56 and 5 to 40 respectively, depending where you look. Vigorous exercise can sightly elevate enzymes, but i would expect your AST not your ALT to be elevated if any, after jogging 2 1/2 miles. I would check back with your doctor, and have the blood work tested again in the near future. You need to rule out any serious problems. And the next time don't jog there!
